John Marshall is a landscape photographer whose images following the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980, published in National Geographic Magazine propelled his professional career to national attention. Since then his photographs have appeared in dozens of nature and science publications indluding Time-Life Books, Sunset Magazine and Books, and Smithsonian Guides. Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company has published four books of his photography, three on Washington and one on Idaho, with over 100,000 copies sold to date. In addition his images have appeared in advertising campaigns for many clients including Eddie Bauer, Washington State Tourism, and the Washington Fruit Commission. John's prints appear in many corporate and private collections including IBM.

With a Bachelor's of Science in Fisheries and a Masters of Science in Wildlife John's photographs reflect his keen interest in the preservation of nature and the outdoors. Living in a rural area brought him into contact with agriculture, which he has developed an interest in also.

John lives with his wife Leslie, and family in Wenatchee, Washington on the east side of the Cascades Mountains. In his free time he enjoys canoeing, gardening, and playing with five year old triplets.
